Cathryn Gleeson

Cathryn is an actress, composer, writer and graduate of Mountview Academy, as well as A multi instrumentalist. she plays viola, piano and guitar, and her music is shaped by a variety of influences including classical, folk, and film scores. Some of her favourite composers are Alexandre Desplat, Hildur Gudnadottir, Ludovico Einaudi, Hans Zimmer and Agnes Obel. She enjoys experimenting with live instruments and electronic sounds.  Cathryn has had the privilege to perform with Richmond Orchestra, Alex Bayly & Band at The Finsbury and award winning theatre company Tall Stories. Cathryn's lyrics were awarded a commended entry In The UK Songwriting Contest in 2019. Cathryn is currently working on her debut EP.

In the chaos of this year, Hildur Gudnadottir's Oscar win was a standout moment for Cathryn and inspired her to pursue film composing professionally. She is excited to be a part of the A Spark In The Apocalypse team and she hopes you enjoy her score as much as she's enjoyed composing it.
